The Godhead exists coequally and coeternally in three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit and these three are one God, sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God and was born of the virgin Mary, was completely sinless, taught authoritatively, died as our substitution and atonement, was resurrected and ascended to heaven.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit has been given to guide believers into all truth and empower them to work the works of God and be His witnesses.
We believe in the universal sinfulness of mankind since the fall rendering them subject to God’s judgement.
We believe in the necessity of repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ leading to salvation – being pardoned and accepted as righteous in God’s sight and becoming a child of God. This is by the grace of God and received by faith alone.
We believe in the ministries God has set in His church including evangelists, pastors and teachers.
The Gospel answers the needs of the whole man and believers are commissioned to preach the Gospel to the whole world.
As part of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland we hold the Bible as being our supreme standard of faith and practice. We have sub-ordinate standards that we believe summarise the teaching of the Bible. These are are the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechism.
